There is wine country to explore on a day away from your Barcelona Accommodation

On your last day away from your BARCELONA ACCOMMODATION spent in exploring the Penedes region of Spain there are two places that you must visit on your journey. These are two of the most well thought of wine producers in the world. Freixenet located in Vilafranca del Penedes, famous for its medieval architecture along with an open air market selling everything imaginable, and Codorniu in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, home to a bodega which has been under the management of the same family for 17 generations. There is an underground network of cellars spread over 16 kilometres and a museum dedicated to the art of making wine. Don’t worry if you can't cover the whole region because you will be back.
